Meet Matthew Kilgo
Matthew Kilgo is the owner of The Law Offices of Matthew W. Kilgo, LLC, a criminal defense firm based in Marietta, Georgia. Matt earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 1996, and graduated from the Georgia State University College of Law in 1999, beginning practice as a prosecuting attorney soon after. Matt’s entire legal career has been focused in criminal law, first as a prosecutor, then as region counsel for anti-piracy for the Recording Industry Association of America, and for more than a decade now, in criminal defense. Matt’s practice focuses on criminal defense, in particular firearms litigation: use of force defense cases; Weapons Carry License denials matters; and assisting individuals in rehabilitating their criminal records through restrictions, expungements, restorations of firearms rights, and pardons.
Matt is the author of the book “Georgia Gun Law: Armed and Educated.” He has trained the public in more than 300 Second Amendment/Use of Force seminars, speaks across the Southeast on firearms issues, and works every day to protect the rights of his clients in criminal cases, self-defense matters, Weapons Carry License applications and denial hearings, and in advancing gun-rights issues in Georgia. He loves to teach his sons (and his friends) to shoot, and to respect firearms.
